Passing on Knowledge
Our ceremonies offer the participant an opportunity to develop knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment about
himself, his fellow man and about his place in the world. They also offer the
opportunity to develop skills and confidence in performance. With time and
perseverance an appreciation of the rich tapestry of masonic tradition unfolds.
For some, a commitment to master the fundamental craft of freemasonry and enjoy
the friendship and supportive environment will suffice. Others feel motivated to
explore other aspects of freemasonry such as its history or its more esoteric
and philosophical dimensions.
Whatever path we choose, freemasons are all encouraged to advance their
knowledge and personal understanding. This can be achieved in a variety of ways;
by discussion and instruction; by reading of masonic literature; by joining
study or research groups or organisations either locally, nationally or
international. Many of the latter are accessible through the internet (see
links page).
Some may choose to expand their interest, knowledge and understanding by joining
other masonic orders.
The Province is pleased to assist lodges in supplementing the regular lodge
programme with speakers.
In addition, a number of training events are held to assist lodges and lodge
officers. Contact the Provincial Education Officer: Brian Rushton by email
to book a place.
