The Provincial Information and Communication Team oversee many of the communication functions within the Province. Key objectives are to promote Freemasonry as a valuable asset to the communities within Somerset and as a worthwhile voluntary activity of benefit to the individual, his family and his community. A further aim is to keep brethren regularly informed of activities, events and achievements across the Province and to provide support to Lodges to enable them to publicise themselves to other freemasons and to their local communities.

John Cole
Provincial Information Officer Email contact

The Provincial Information Officer has the lead role to promote a positive image of freemasonry within Somerset and to maintain constructive working relationships with the media. He will also support Lodge Information Officers in achieving these objectives.

Every Craft Lodge has a Lodge Information Officer, designated by his ‘Bugle’ lapel badge, who is a member of the wider Information and Communications Team. He has a role to promote good communication to and from his Lodge. This includes social or special events or any item of news from the Lodge, or any of its members or their families, which may be of interest to the wider Masonic world or to the public at large.
