The Lodge was consecrated on Wednesday 4th November 1987 at the Burnham-on-Sea Masonic Hall by the late R.W. Bro. K.C. Kinnersley and members of Provincial Grand Lodge.

The Lodge was formed by members of the "Somerset Masonic Golfing Society" with Alun Rees as the first Master and Ian White as first Secretary. The late V.W. Bro. Roger Clark was Master in 1988 and he was succeeded by the present Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. D.L. Jenkins the following year. The Lodge has now taken over the administration of the S.M.G.S. and annual matches are held against the Provinces of Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Bristol, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire. These matches are open to any golfers in Somerset and are not restricted to Lodge members.

Regular Lodge meetings are held on the first Wednesday in April, June and September. Normally a golf competition is arranged late morning followed by a Lodge meeting at a nearby Masonic Hall. Once again, any golfer within the Province of Somerset can play for some of the trophies. These include the "Elliot Putter" in April, "SMGS Shield" in June and the "Harry Owen Hughes Cup" in September. Please contact secretary David Martin if you would like further information concerning the Lodge or you wish to take part in any of the golfing competitions.
