Prompted by the large number of potential candidates in the early 1960's, a number of the Pilgrims Lodge Past Masters, together with a number of other Lodge members with Glastonbury connections met at the George and Pilgrims Hotel to discuss the formation of a second Glastonbury Lodge. After some deliberation the name chosen was St. Dunstan’s, named after a local Saint born at Baltonsborough and at one time Archbishop of Canterbury. The Pilgrims Lodge agreed to be the sponsoring Lodge and St Dunstan's duly formed was consecrated on the 1st June 1964 under English Constitution rules by R.W. Brigadier A. de L. Cazenove, Provincial Grand Master for Somerset assisted by the Provincial Team.
